07/03/08 The Call Final Show
We're sad to anounce that as of April 12th The Call will be splitting up, we have not reached this decision lightly but have decided that the four of us have taken it as far as we can and would like to persue our own projects. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years through gigs recording and generally just putting up with us!, as a farewell to everyone we will be playing one final show at The Hugh Ripley Hall Ripon on April 12th, please get tickets from us personally or from the shop, availablity is limited so be quick after all it is the last chance you'll get! Thanks again we hope to see as many of you at the show as possible.

27/11/07 The Call announce their Christmas Special Event!!
Saturday 22nd December The Hugh Ripley Hall Ripon! It's the first time the band have played back in Ripon since the release of their EP - Missing Pieces. 24/10/07 Tickets Now Available For Trash
Tickets are now in the shop section of the site for the next Call event. Trash in Leeds(formerly The Mixing Tin) is hosting the headline slot on Monday 19th November. As with Fibbers, there is a limited supply that are expected to sell out soon after release so please visit the shop to secure your tickets well in advance.

23/10/07 A Big Thank You
After a sellout EP launch at Fibbers York last Thursday the lads would like to thank everyone who came to the gig to celebrate the new EP and have a few cheeky drinks too, a special thanks to everyone who helped us organise it and Jacob for an excellent support set. After a few day hangover the band revisited BBC Raw Talent host Alan Raw and his team for a live session, if you missed it you can listen back here.

10/10/07 BBC Raw Talent Session
The Call have been invited back to the BBC to perform a live session. The Raw Talent team have asked the band to play live in the studio on Sunday 21st October. The show is on from 7pm-10pm featuring the best of the bands from around the North. 4/10/07 Stray FM Session
Stray FM's Chris Bell has kindly asked The Call to do a session on his breakfast show. It's a short notice request as the show is tomorrow morning, but the lads have agreed to go across for an early morning brew and even take a few guitars, listen to the show from 8am on 97.2fm or at StrayFM.com.

The Call are pleased to announce that support for the Missing Pieces launch party comes from American singer songwriter Jacob Golden. 24/09/07 The Call On Minster FM

24/08/07 New Website Launched
The Call are delighted to announce the launch of their new website to coincide with the release of their second studio EP Missing Pieces.
To celebrate the launch of the new EP the band will be playing an exclusive ticket only show at Fibbers Barfly in York on Thursday 18th of October, tickets are available in the online shop. 18/05/07 LIve Session for BBC Radio York
Following on from their recent interview at BBC Radio York, the band have lined up another live session at the station. The broadcast will be aired live on Thursday 5th July. 5/04/07 The Call featured on Sound of UK DVD
The Call have been included in a new regional music series. Sounds of UK has compiled a “comprehensive and inspired picture of the new British music scene” based around the bands in the Leeds area.
Included with The Call are The Sunshine Underground, Embrace and The Pigeon Detectives. At present, it’s available on DVD with the producers looking for a release through major television networks in the near future. Please check out www.soundsofuk.com to find out more.
4/04/07 Festival Date Confirmed
The Wickerman Festival organisers have invited The Call to play the main stage at their summer event this year! It takes place at East Kirkcarswell Farm, Dundrennan, Scotland on the 20th/21st July. The Call have been confirmed as support for excellent pop outfit Vega4 who are signed to Columbia Records and are currently a regular fixture on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday 23rd November. 9/10/06 Recording Starts on the New EP!
Recording has now started on The Call's second EP. The band are in the studio putting together another 4 tracks to follow on from Push On. It is untitled as yet, but will include Missing Pieces, Outside The Lines, In The Silence and a new track called Something Good.

To keep everyone up to date, there will be daily entries on the official forum including pictures and reports from each band member to document their progress.In addition, please visit the forum to hear the demo versions of the EP tracks during the pre production stage of recording.

8/09/06 Charity Concert at Harrogate International Conference Centre
The Band have confirmed they will be performing live at Harrogate International Conference Centre on Wednesday the 27th of September to raise money for local charities including Harrogate Hospital. Tickets are £10 (£5 for children) and available direct from the box office on 01423 537230

1/09/06 Festival Updates
Thanks to all of you who traveled down to see the band play at the brilliant Secret Garden Party Festival on the 18th of August and the Beached Festival in Scarborough on the 20th! Both gigs were a resounding success and we've had lots of new myspace and forum members as a result! Thank you! BBC Raw Talent's Alan Raw and Katy Noone invited the lads to do an interview on their radio show which broadcast live from the festival on Scarborough beach. The show opened with two songs taken live from The Call's set that afternoon.

23/06/06 The Call Play the O2 Wireless Festival
Following their recent radio sessions at BBC Raw Talent, The Call have been asked to play at this year's 02 Wireless Festival at Harewood House in Leeds. The Who, The Flaming Lips and The Zutons are just a few of the bands taking part this Sunday 25th. There are still a limited number of tickets available for the event.

1/06/06 Listen to The Call's Live Performance on BBC Radio Raw Talent
The Call's recent live radio session is now available on the downloads page of the forum. The band played on Sunday night as part of BBC Raw Talent. The session featured the title track from their EP along with two brand new tracks which have never been aired before. There is also a short interview of them chatting with DJ Alan Raw about their plans for the summer.

12/05/06 Two Festival Dates Confirmed
The Call have been confirmed to play two festivals this summer. The Secret Garden Party takes place in a secret location just outside Cambridge in August. Described as "the new Glastonbury" and featuring acts like Graham Coxon, The Infadels and Prince Buster, the event is fast becoming a must for all music fans. Closer to home, The Moor Festival takes place outside Ilkely in July and features a huge line up of bands from around the Leeds and York area. This year The Call will play alongside Rick Witter And The Dukes and 10,000 Things. Please visit the gigs page for dates and information on tickets.

12/05/06 New Merchandise On Sale
Brand new merchandise has now been added to the shop page of the site. New T-shirt designs, more stock of old lines and the limited edition Push On DVD are now available to purchase via our secure online shop.

8/05/06 BBC Radio Raw Live Acoustic Session
The Call are to play another live acoustic session for BBC Radio. They've been asked to take part in BBC Radio York's More Raw show on Saturday 13th May. More Raw is a magazine programme dedicated to the live music scene across North Yorkshire. Please check the gigs page for information.

8/05/06 Listen to the BBC Radio 2 live acoustic session
The recent live Radio 2 acoustic session is now available to listen to on the forum. The three tracks Push On, Outside The Lines and Shout For Help were played at The BBC after a personal request from Janice Long was received earlier in the year. 12/04/06 Push On Video Unveiled
The brand new video for the EP title track Push On is now available to view on the Music Page of the site. Please also check out the film company's website www.razorfilms.co.uk. Co Producers Richard Harrison and Jeff Kasfikis along with camerman/editor Robert Hindle filmed the video on location in and around London.

5/04/06 Push On Video Update
After the very very busy and successful days filming with Razor Films in London on Sunday, The Call's first video for their track Push On will be fully edited and ready to view on the website on the 12th of April.
The action captured looks absolutely fantastic, and we have also taken lots of still photos to give you an idea of how the video was filmed and put together in the different locations.
We don't want to spoil the surprise of the storylines and locations so each day until the videos release, to give you a flavour for what to expect we will be posting a new picture on the forum

4/04/06 Push on EP Review
The 2nd track on the Push On EP has recently been placed at the top of the Losing Today music Chart! 13/03/06 Push On Video Update
Work has continued towards the band's first video. Film producer Richard Harrison has now finalised a location for the final shoot of Push On and things are scheduled to take place to coincide with the national airplay of the single. It will be available to download from this site once completed.

13/3/06 £1 Off Entry to the Vine
Our next live gig is The Vine in Leeds this Friday 17th March. The promoter has allowed all Call fans a £1 entry reduction with our flyers which can be found on the downloads section of the forum. We try to make this a regular occurrence for all gigs that will allow it so please check out this section of the site if you haven't already.

Janice Long has made Push On a regular on her BBC Radio 2 show since hearing the EP only last week. In addition, the lads received a personal request from the legendary DJ to do an acoustic live session at the BBC studios on Wednesday 13th April. 7/03/06 BBC Radio Raw Talent Airplay
BBC Raw Talent have consistently played the title track from the Push On EP since the lads performed live in the studio earlier this year. The producer has commented on the large amount of requests, so once again thanks for helping on the e-mails and texts. Don't forget a full live session will be aired on Thursday 25th May. As with all sessions, the full download will be available on our forum after the event so please join up to listen via this site.

16/02/06 Fresh Radio Showcase
After their successful BBC Raw Talent appearance and before the return performance, The Call are to showcase songs on the Yorkshire based Fresh Radio. The station has lined them up to appear on Sunday 9th April. Tracks from the Push On EP will be played along with a live acoustic set and short interview. 16/02/06 Another Fibbers Sell Out!
The Call are again to appear at another sellout show at York Fibbers. The promoter has confirmed that the gig on Friday 3rd March supporting Morning Runner received huge amounts of interest. The band would like to thank in advance those who have bought tickets for the show.

15/02/06 Debut Video Filmed at London Gig
The first footage of The Call's debut video was captured in the capital this weekend. Richard Harrison of Razor Films captured the lads in a live capacity at The Spice of Life in London for use in the film which is to be completed later this year.

06/01/06 BBC Radio Raw Talent Interview & Live Track
Having impressed a BBC Producer with the Push On EP, the lads have been asked to take part in the next live "Raw Talent" radio show on Thursday 12th January. Covering York, Leeds, Hull and Sheffield, the show is an ideal opportunity to hear The Call in the local area. The band are to be questioned on the debut release, will perform a live acoustic track in the studio and have another song aired during the show.

13/12/05 London Date Confirmed

11/12/05 Fibbers Sell Out
Thanks again to all those who made the effort to support us in York on Tuesday. Selling the venue out had a lot to do with the small army that turned up to see The Call! The promoter was very impressed and has promised a return visit for the lads - please keep an eye on the gigs page.

6/12/05 Blues Bar Gig Announced
The band are pleased to announce that they will be playing a 5 song promo set in Harrogate's Blues Bar on Monday 12th of December as part of the Charm Christmas Event. 11/11/05 The Call Win XFM Unsigned
Fantastic news, The Call have won the XFM Unsigned Band competition!
The Winning track "Push On" was played this morning at 11:40 on Shaun Keaveny's daytime show and there was also a mention of 3 upcoming gigs which are: tonight at The Spice of Life in Soho, Monday 14th at the
Hope & Anchor in Islington and Tuesday 6th December at  Fibbers in York supporting Electric Soft Parade.

Unfortunately the band were not able to listen to the show as they were traveling down to London for tonight's gig in their trusty Tour Bus, but were delighted when they found out, and asked me to thank everyone for voting for them!

8/11/05 The Call on National Radio
Breaking News- The Call are to be featured on the National Radio Station XFM, as part of their Unsigned week!   The lads are up against 3 other bands in a competition to have one of their songs played on a prime time slot on Friday, which would coincide nicely with the 2 London gigs this weekend at the Spice of Life Soho on Friday and The Hope & Anchor on Monday night.
So far XFM unsigned has helped break top quality acts such as Athlete, Electric Soft Parade and Keane, so this is a massive opportunity.   The Call’s anthem “Push On” has been selected by DJ Claire Sturgess to be played as part of her show this Wednesday between 9pm and 11pm .
8/11/05 New Gig Date Added
The Call are delighted to announce a new gig date as the only support for Electric Soft Parade at Fibbers in York on Tuesday 6th of December. The venue invited the band back as a result of last months excellent performance supporting the Leaves and because of very large number of Call fans that attended.

7/11/05 New Galleries Added
Two new photo galleries have been added featuring the fantastic recent gigs at the Fez in Sheffield & Fibbers in York. We will also shortly be adding pictures taken on Friday at The Shed, thanks to Parked and for everyone who came along to support us, as usual it was a top night with the enthusiastic Leicester fans singing and dancing along to every tune!

7/10/05 Another Gig in the Capital
As part of the Promotion of the new Push On EP The Call have secured another London gig and will be playing at the Hope & Anchor in Islington on Monday 14th of November. The venue once hosted U2 back in December of 1979 and currently has live acts on most nights of the week so it promises to be another top night!

5/10/05 London Venue Confirmed
The upcoming gig in London has now been finalised and will be at The Spice of Life in Soho on Friday 11th of November. The venue has been in existence for over a century and has been home to a wide variety of top acts including; Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, The Sex Pistols and more recently Jamie Cullum.

The Call are pleased to announce two new gig dates, the first of which is on the 2nd of February in the Rat & Parrot in Harrogate, the second is in London! Hello from The Call!
It's been a while but our EP is finished! The CD contains four newly recorded tracks and it is now available from the online shop.

7/2/05 Stewart's Birthday  
Stewart celebrates his 24th birthday today, but not being one to make a fuss, he's helping the other band members finish off the construction work needed to complete the move from their old practice room to the new one. I'm sure there will be time to have a couple well earnt beers before the night is over mind! Thanks again for all the messages sent to the band wishing him well.
2/2/05 New Songs
As a result of continued work for the recording/more material, the lads have just finished off a song entitled 'In The Silence' and are putting together another which should make its way into the set list for future gigs.
They're hoping to write a number of new songs before taking gigs again this year but please check listings for dates regularly.

1/2/05 New Surroundings
The bands eviction from the practice room came a lot sooner than first Notified and pushed the band to find other accommodation to write and work on new songs. Fortunately a suitable premises has been found which will allow the practice sessions to go on with as little interruption as possible.

20/1/05 Joel's Birthday
Today saw Joel celebrate another birthday as a member of The Call. The lads decided to let off steam in Leeds while watching band favourite David Kitt at The Cockpit.
Thanks to all those who wished him well via e-mail, and bought him birthday drinks on the night!

15/1/05 Photo shoot& Cd Artwork
Today saw the band attend their first professional photo shoot. Local photographer Mark Wood captured the boys in a more staged manner as a contrast to the excellent live pictures already on the website. The images will be considered to fit into the artwork of the debut EP which is being finalised by by Birmingham based photographer Andre Harry and will be on the website to view in due course .

15/1/05 Recording Update
January and February are being used to finalise all our recording commitments and concentrate on our new material.
The latest addition to the song list entitled "In The Silence" is very close to being finished and will be considered as a fourth/fifth track on the EP.
Due to the amount of time needed in the studio and practice rooms, gigs have had to take a back seat for the start of this year.
